JBS History
JBS Logistics, Inc. was formed in 1986. The initial company operations concentrated in warehousing and transportation brokerage. In 1987 JBS Transportation obtained Contract Carrier Authority from the ICC, and a year later, KFS started its Air Freight Forwarding Operation.
In 1990 JBS expanded its Warehousing operations to 150,000 square feet. This facility specialized in the storage, handling, and distribution of Food Grade Items for Companies such as Hoffman LaRoche, General Mills and Frito Lay. That same year, JBS obtained Thomas Cartage to handle all local (Chicago-land) pick-ups and deliveries.
In 1986 JBS Transportation acquired Valley West Transport and increased its fleet operations to 40 tractors and 60 trailers. And recently (1999) JBS opened a satellite terminal in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This facilities focus is on Over-weight and Over-dimensional freight.
Warehouse Division:
The focus of the Warehousing and Distribution Division is to provide High-Efficiency Storage and Fulfillment Distribution for various manufacturers who need a presence in the Chicago-land area. In addition to Storage, we can provide Bill of Lading, Stenciling, Master Packing, Fulfillment Services and Local Delivery. Our customers can access our computer system to obtain up to the minute information on inventory levels, receiving reports, and order status.
