JBS Warehousing Services Inc. was formed in 1986. The initial company operations concentrated in warehousing and transportation brokerage. In 1987 JBS Transportation obtained contract carrier authority from the ICC. Starting out with a small fleet of 3 trucks, we were able to handle freight on our own trucks, which helped supplement the fast growing transportation brokerage business. In 1988 KFS started its Air Freight forwarding operation. In 1989 JBS Warehousing Services expanded its operations to 150,000 square feet facility that specialized in the storage, handling and distribution of food grade items for companies such as Hoffman LaRoche, General Mills and Frito Lay Inc. In 1990 JBS obtained Thomas Cartage to handle all local (Chicago-land) pick-ups and deliveries. In 1996 JBS Transportation acquired Valley West Transport and increased its Contract Carriage Division to a Fleet size of 40 Units. In 1999 JBS opened a satellite terminal in Tulsa Oklahoma. This facility focus is overweight and over dimensional freight. In 2000 JBS changed its corporate name to JBS Logistics to better represent all of the different services that JBS’ provides to the Transportation and Warehousing Industries. |
